A survey by our site team revealed a twenty five year old AHU, which was not operational and showed clear signs of components beyond repair.
A new unit was the obvious solution in a perfect world however the complexities of the site made it virtually impossible to install a new AHU without extreme building work taking place. The existing AHU was a double decked supply and extract air handling unit with no heat recovery. The fans were belt driven.
Our site team modified the casework to allow a plate to plate heat exchanger to be fitted which was specially manufactured in twelve sections and fitted in situ. The belt driven fans were removed and fitted with high efficiency direct driven EC fans. These were complemented with new speed controllers. All access panels and seals were replaced and the unit cleaned in and out.
